An old pharmacy storefront on Mermaid Avenue in Coney Island stopped me in my tracks one day as I as wandering off Surf Avenue. The light fixtures of the name falling apart and the fading exterior paint color called back to earlier days of this pharmacy, with the new, jovial stuffed animals perched in place on a kind of stage in the window struck me.
